Pointe Shoes

"Pointe Shoes at Rest" 9" x 12 " Oil on Canvas Panel $120

I borrowed the Pointe Shoes from the model at our Life Drawing Group. I had been wanting to do this still life. The idea came from watching my daughter grow up with dance lessons.

Spring Flowers

"Begonias" 8" x 8" Acrylic on Canvas Panel

I notice that our local nursery had opened it's doors for the season, I had to go and soak up the atomosphere. I found some beautiful Begonias. I thought I would try them in Acrylic as an experiment, I probably will do an oil version just to compare. The acrylics were enyjoyable, I love oils but it's the hazards that challenge me to keep trying for a better solution, but quality or enjoyment can not be sacrficed.

Girls with Scarf

"Girls with Scarf " 8.5" x 12.5" Watercolor on Paper

I am getting more adapted to watercolor, I want to use it on the go, it's more portable to take anywhere, especially on trips. I have found that choice of paper is important for vibrant color and good results over all.

Pear, Apple and Grapes

"Pear, Apple and Grapes" 9" x 12" Oil on Canvas Panel

I thought I would try another similar arrangement. I am much happier with the cloth, it's more luminious. I will need to go back the apples painting and redo the cloth.

The Dancer

"The dancer" 11.5" x 6" Watercolor on paper

This is a watercolor sketch I did of a ballet dancer in a pose, painted from life.

Apples, Apples, Apples!

"Pink Lady Apples " 11" x 14" Oil on Canvas Panel $150

Apples are such an enticing object to paint, I need to do more. I enjoyed this setup, the pieces fell together in the composition.
